Finally, Some Cooler Dog Walking Weather!

It feels like we’ve spent most of this summer checking the weather app before heading out for our walks!

The seemingly never ending hot weather made things a little tricky this year. Five heatwaves I think we ended up having!?!

Obviously the dogs’ safety always comes first, so on the hotter days we’ve had to change things around a bit, take walks easier and limit some of the usual running around and playing when we could get out walking. Not always the easiest thing to explain to a group of dogs who just want to play with their friends!

Thankfully, things are finally starting to feel a bit more normal. The cooler weather is back, the rain has made a return (although we’re sure we’ll regret being pleased about that soon enough!) and our dogs can get back to properly enjoying their group walks without restrictions.

It’s been lovely seeing them able to run around, play with their friends and explore again without us having to worry so much about the heat.

Of course, cooler weather also means the return of wet dogs, muddy paws and filthy vehicles… but we’ll take that over a heatwave any day!

We’re looking forward to plenty more dog walks in some much cooler weather, even if autumn does mean spending half our lives cleaning mud off everything! 🐾
