Spotify launches Playlist for Your Dogs

Spotify has launched a playlist for dogs' to listen to in their owners absence, after finding that 74% of UK pet-owners plays music for their animals.

Spotify have said the found in their research that 1 in 4 dog owners play music for their dogs, with 42% of owners saying their dogs have a favourite type of music.


The Company have released the playlist containing soothing music, "dog-directed praise", stories and messages of affirmation and reassurance narrated by actors to alleviate stress for dogs who are home alone. Each playlist is unique and are based on the owners listening type and pet species. The playlist runs in two five hours stretches.


Neil Evans, an animal physiologist and professor at the University of Glasgow who worked with Spotify to develop the podcast, said providing dogs with "auditory enrichment" could help them to achieve a more "relaxed physiological state."
